job description
  • Under the overall guidance and supervision of the project field coordinator and training officer, Agricultural Technicians will be directly working with the farmers at grassroots level providing technical and feedback support to the producer groups, traders and venders in seed and spices crop production and marketing.
  • Their primary role is to mobilize the farmers group for quality production of seeds of different vegetable crops and spices.
Job Specification
  • Organize, formation and mobilization of farmer's group/cooperatives for production of high quality seed and spices of local varieties.
  • Provide the farmers with technical skills and improved practices for adaption of project activities.
  • Organize, facilitate and train farmers’ groups/cooperatives on cultivation of seed and spices as well as on other capacity building programs.
  • Training to farmer groups to promote the use of high quality inputs and the adoption of new technologies (including production and post-harvest technologies) that will increase the quantity and quality of production leading to increased incomes and improved food security for project beneficiaries.
  • Support the private sector partners to form and strengthen farmer groups. This may include facilitating organization of exposure visits of farmer groups, strengthening collection centers (including MPCs), cooperatives, or haat bazaars.
Education description
  • Minimum TSLC in Agriculture or 3 years Diploma in Agriculture from CTEVT or I. Sc. Ag degree with minimum of 3 year experience in relevant field.
  • Ability to live and travel with marginal logistic facilities in the remote villages.
  • Proven track record in social mobilization and promotion of agricultural technologies through conducting demonstrations and trainings at community level
