In 2000, Rural Education and Environment Development Centre (REED-Nepal) was established with the goal of ensuring quality education for Nepali children. REED-Nepal was founded as the Nepali NGO to consolidate the Teacher Training Programs. Since its inception, REED-Nepal has followed Sir Hillary's footsteps to mountainous regions; North East of Nepal, the home of Mount Everest and Himalayas. Annually, REED-Nepal works with 298 schools, over 8000 thousand teachers and community members over the mountainous terrain. REED-Nepal has a holistic approach to ensuring quality education. The organization works with teachers, school management committees, parents and community members. With the support of its funding partners, the Australian Himalayan Foundation, Himalayan Trust New Zealand and Himalayan Trust UK, REED-Nepal has 4 key programs - Teacher training, School supplies and infrastructure, Scholarships for disadvantaged students, Community orientation program.

job description
  • The EDC is responsible for supporting, planning, executing and implementing programs activities of designated cluster areas at the district level in order to ensure sustained quality education for all children at Secondary level model schools.
  • EDC is an integral part of the Line Management Team (LMT) and reports to the District Manager.
  • EDC coordinates activities with other members of the SMT team, and line agency at the field level.
  • The key roles and responsibilities of EDC includes - improving governance, teachers' appraisal, library management, Planning and effective coordination of all REED Nepal SEIP, training and capacity building, report preparation and documentation, monitoring and evaluation, administrative and financial management of Secondary Education Improvement Project funded by Himalayan Trust New Zealand.
Job Specification
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in teacher training programme (secondary level teachers), school governance teachers' appraisal, library management.
Education description
  • Masters degree in relevant field.
