job description
  • The Farmers’ Field School Officer (FFS) Officer is responsible for planning and implementation of Farmers’ Field Schools in Skill Up project.
  • S/he will work under direct supervision of the Project/TVET Coordinator, and in coordination with the MEAL Officer, respective Municipalities, Cooperatives and designated Vocational Schools.
  • S/he will support and guide the FFS facilitators in implementation of the Farmers’ Field Schools and achieving the intended results.
  • The FFS officer will be responsible for management of FFS operations, regular monitoring of the activities, reporting and information sharing with the partners, ensuring compliance with BMZ/WHH rules and regulations along with internal policies of CEAPRED as well as with the prevailing Nepalese Laws and Regulations.
  • The FFS Officer will also be responsible for supporting in Knowledge Development, and learning sharing with the Municipalities and Provincial Government for upscaling within and outside the province.
Job Specification
  • Support in formulation of the annual work plan and budget for the implementation of FFS activities of the project.
  • Design and conduct ToT and Refresher trainings for the FFS facilitators and organize farmer exchange visits.
  • Coordinate with Green colleges, Municipalities and Cooperatives for identification, development and adaptation of the curriculum, implementation of the trainings and monitoring for quality results.
  • Supervise and contribute to the FFS training activities in the project area.
  • Lead in identification of the training need for FFS, based on the feasibility of the location and season.
  • Coordinate for conducting demonstrations on organic agriculture, IPM technologies and climate smart technologies in the project area
Education description
  • University degree in Agricultural Science, preferably in agronomy or horticulture.
  • At least 3 years work experience, particularly in the field of participatory approaches, FFS methodology development, facilitation and implementation.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written in English and Nepali.
  • Good reporting skills in both program and financial reporting.
