- Main Duties
- Offer support in mapping and field investigations on groundwater and spring-source zone of watershed sub-projects.
- Carry out training of Field Technical Teams (FFTs) in groundwater and spring assessment and management for sub-projects preparation and implementation.
- Contribute with soil and hydrogeological inputs, assessments, and modules for (i) preparation of demonstration of sub-watershed management plans (ii) hands-on training of staff members (iii) preparation of watershed management planning guidelines and training modules, development and finalization of Springshed Guidelines manuals.
- Cooperate with the Knowledge Management Advisor (KMA) to develop lessons learned and knowledge products related to groundwater and spring assessment in watershed management planning.
- Participate in appropriate national and international knowledge sharing events.
- Duration: August 2017 to August 2019 (Part-time contractual position, 9.5 Man Months)
- Duty Station: Dadeldhura (80%) and Kathmandu (20%),
Job Specification
- Eight years documented experience in hydrogeological investigations and assessment (preferably in mountain eco-regions with spring-sources)
- Familiarity with sub-watershed and spring-source management.
Education description
- Master degree in hydro-geology.
