Kantipur Management Private Limited (KMPL) announces the vacancy for Agriculture Sector Development Programme (ASDP). ASDP is an undertaking of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) with the major financial support of the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). The programme is in implementation through the fiscal year 2018/19. The duration of the Programme is six years. The overall goal of the programme is to contribute to the achievement of Nepal's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1 – No Poverty and SDG 2- Zero Hunger) by reducing poverty and nutrition insecurity amongst women and men in hill and mountain areas of the Karnali Province. The purpose of the programme is to contribute to the achievement of Nepal’s SDG 8- Decent Work and Economic Growth target through sustainable improvement in the income and food security of smallholders and disadvantaged rural groups (Dalits, Janajatis, Muslims, youth, landless and other disadvantaged groups) involved in commercially oriented production and marketing systems in selected high value agricultural value chains. Duty station: Hub/Corridor based (Salyan, Jajarkot and Jumla) and frequent visits to programme command areas

General scope of the position:

  • The M&E and KM Officer is responsible for implementing the overall M&E and KM strategy and implementation of related activities within the Programme and vis-a-vis partners, plus providing timely and relevant information to the M&E-KM Expert, Programme Coordinator, PCO and district/local stakeholders.
  • This requires close coordination and communication with the district, local level Line Agencies, municipalities and wards, programme stakeholder groups, and field staff as well as consultants of M&E-related external missions.

Qualifications, experience and competency:

  • Masters’ degree in development and/or management studies or equivalent with at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of planning, monitoring, research and statistics.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience with planning, design and implementation of M&E systems and logical framework / other strategic planning approaches
  • Sound Knowledge in M&E methods and approaches (including quantitative, qualitative and participatory)
  • Experience in M&E development and implementation and/or facilitating learning-oriented analysis sessions of M&E data with multiple stakeholders, Data and information analysis;
  • Familiarity with and a supportive attitude towards processes of strengthening local organizations and building local capacities for self-management;
  • Willingness to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders, especially primary stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and facilitate the working of other team members;
  • Excellent communications skills - spoken and written, both in English and Nepali and possess good report writing skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of institutions.

Age limit: The upper age limit for all the positions at the last date of submission of application will be 55 years (the applicant needs to submit a copy of certificate which certifies the date of birth)

Contract: For all positions there will be initial contract for one year with a probation period of six months. The annual contract will be extendable up to the programme period based on satisfactory performance in the preceding contract.

Salary and benefits will be as per the approved guidelines of the ASDP.

Preferences will be given to women candidate; candidate from disadvantaged groups (Dalit, Janjati/Indigenous, Madheshi, Muslim); candidates from Backward/ ASDP districts.
