The role of the Program Manager for Education will be to provide leadership and direction in Oda Foundation programming and growth as it relates to education. The Program Manager will also take part in extremely high-level conversations surrounding the growth strategy and future plan of the Foundation, thus a high level of maturity, leadership, and critical thinking skills are essential.

This role will oversee a new partnership between the Oda Foundation and one local public school beginning in the new school year. This individual will manage the transition of the Oda Foundation’s private nursery program to a public program. This individual will be responsible for working hand-in-hand with the Oda Foundation’s existing education staff, public school administrators and teachers, and Oda Foundation partner Collaborative Schools Network to implement better policies, a better environment, and enhanced curriculum for the partner public school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside our Directors and local staff to create and strengthen existing programming
  • Working with our current nursery school staff to assist in daily curriculum design, teaching, and trainings
  • Communicating effectively in Nepali with our local team
  • Communicating effectively in English with our US Director and American Fellows
  • Working closely with the Oda Foundation’s partnering public school
  • Implementing the Collaborative Schools Network model in our public school partner
  • Rigorous and timely data collection
  • Collaborating and offering guidance to the Education staff and mid-term Fellows team on a daily basis
  • Providing Oda Foundation Directors with high-level operational support
  • Navigating key stakeholder relationships including: local community members, local leaders, gaunpalika representatives, and district-level officers

 

Job Specification

Successful candidates will have:

  • Solid comprehension of Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced written and spoken English and Nepali skills
  • A positive attitude with a proven track record for being a leader and a team player
  • An open-minded attitude towards living and working in Kalikot.
  • A strong work ethic and a genuine desire to make a difference in the Kalikot district
  • A proven track record for success, whether this is academically or otherwise
