World Vision International Nepal (VVVIN), an international Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following position:

Position: Project Coordinator- BRiCKK (One) - based in Central Field Office, Lalitpur

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Project Coordinator for Building Resilience with Children in Kathmandu's Brick Kilns (BRiCKK) project will manage the project portfolio in the Urban Team at WVIN's Central Field Office, in compliance with WVIN's sectoral and quality standards, government's policies and industry norms. The role will be responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of partner NGOs, ensuring partner NGOs have access to appropriate technical, functional and administrative support, and managing relationships with sectoral key stakeholders including Local Government — Municipal Bodies and Ward Offices, Private Sectors and related Industries.The role will also be responsible for contributing to research specifically in the sector of Child Labour in Urban Context of Nepal, and conceptualizing and designing of new projects for Urban Programs. This position will be required to manage and support the field staffs in the urban context to run the project efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:

  • Bachelors in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, Project Management, or related discipline from recognised university with at least 3 years (for those with Master degree) or 5 years (for Bachelor degree) of intensive field experience in managing protection, livelihood and education programming in an Urban Context especially working with urban poor or disadvantageous groups or with children and families working in hazardous form of labour. Proven experience of working in leading National and International Organization with minimum 4 years of experience in managing implementation of projects; Must have technical knowledge on Child Protection Programming especially in child labour elimination and brick kiln industry will be strong asset in addition with Livelihood Support and Development, Life Skills Support and Educational Support; Should have knowledge of Community Planning and Participation Methods; Must have knowledge on trends and dynamics at the city level, and their connection to issues and needs at the local/community level, poverty dynamics, issues and contributing factors; Appreciation of rural/urban linkages especially aspects of urban poverty, slums programming and policies, service delivery for the poor, rural to urban migration, and urban governance; Strong knowledge in holistic programming to reach the vulnerable groups for their protection and wellbeing; Awareness of city management and development plans or processes; Should be familiar with urban policies, strategies, institutions, and regulations adhering to protection system; Understanding of Contemporary issues regarding Child Labour and Policies of Urban Context; Knowledge on research, analysis of data and use of the evidence will be preferred; Understanding of Project Logical Framework, Design, Detailed Implementation Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation and Project Cycle; Demonstrated high capacity to coordinate effectively and build strong working relationships with wide range of stakeholders; Experience in Brick kilns will be an essential part of experience; Experience in coordinating and managing teams and field operations management.

Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector.
