Position: Academic Coordinator (Middle School – Grades 6-9)

Reports to: Vice Principal – Head of Elementary School

Main Purpose of Job

• Under the direction of the Vice Principal -Head of Elementary School, form, implement and monitor the aims, objectives and policies of the elementary school in order to achieve improved learning outcomes for the students at Kathmandu World School.
• In partnership with the Head of Elementary School and Executive Leadership Team provide professional leadership and management of all teaching-learning activities throughout the Elementary School.

Duties:

• Duties Related to Teaching-Learning
• Duties Related to Staff Management
• Duties Related to Professional Development
• Duties Related to Administration and Resource Management

• Sound understanding of curriculum development, assessment tools and student behavior management techniques
• Good knowledge of child development stages and able to understand the requirements if transition between key stages
• Strong speaking/writing skills in both English and Nepali languages
• Proactive, innovative and flexible
• Believes in collaborative working style, has a strong work ethic and is research oriented
• Able to analyze, prioritize and meet deadlines

• Master’s Degree in any discipline, preferably in Education
• Excellent classroom practitioner with minimum 5 years of demonstrated practice of progressive teaching approaches with children in a school setting
