- Monitor computer systems and networks to ensure their stability, performance, and availability.
- Execute scheduled tasks, such as system backups, file transfers, and batch processing.
- Run and monitor computer programs and applications to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Respond to system alerts, error messages, and user inquiries to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including hardware and software updates, system patches, and antivirus scans.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of new hardware and software.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and user guides.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users experiencing computer-related problems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including diagnosing and resolving network connectivity problems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Job Specification
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Additional certifications in computer science or related fields are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Computer Operator or in a similar technical support role.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of computer peripherals, such as printers, scanners, and storage devices.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office), and diagnostic utilities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Effective communication skills to interact with users and provide technical assistance.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as computer operations may require 24/7 monitoring.
