Job Title: Java Backend Engineer
Location: Kumaripati, Lalitpur, Nepal (Work from Office)

Offered Salary: 140k to 150k, based on skills and experience.
Working Hours:  7 A.M. to 4 P.M. NST, in alignment with Japan business hours
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and innovative Java Backend Engineer to join our growing team in Nepal. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, hands-on experience with MySQL, and a solid understanding of modern development environments such as Docker. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, ensuring performance and data integrity
• Develop and maintain REST APIs
• Work in a Docker-based development and deployment environment
• Collaborate with team members to define system architecture and technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications

Technical Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Java development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot
• Experience in designing and operating MySQL databases
• Hands-on experience with Docker-based development environments
• Proven experience in designing and implementing REST APIs
• Experience using Git for version control
• Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS cloud services
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Additional Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness to learn Japanese up to JLPT N4 independently (further learning supported by the company).
• Must hold a valid passport post-hiring and be available for short-term travel to Japan Headquarters for project collaboration and training
