job description
- To collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information relating to the political, economic and social issues.
- To assemble findings into a stable story.
- To write and deliver news stories with the reader’s perspective in mind
- To receive assignments and investigate news leads/tips
- Abide by journalism’s ethics and codes
- To come up with story ideas. Contact, interview and research sources
- Maintain notes and audio recordings
- Cooperate with reporters, chief editor, producers, etc.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest current events by studying papers, attending events, etc.
Job Specification
- Proven working experience as a reporter.
- Portfolio of published articles or newscasts.
- Ability to gather, write and edit news.
- Excellent communication, lobbying and active listening skills.
- English editing and Nepali-to-English translation skills will be an additional bonus.
Education description
- Bachelor's Degree in journalism or mass communications.
