job description
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Review and analyze account balances, transactions, and journal entries. Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
- Month-end and Year-end Closing: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial activities, such as adjusting entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data and analysis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures. Analyze variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance, and mitigate financial risks. Regularly assess control effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Prepare and review tax returns, supporting schedules, and tax provisions. Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities as needed.
- Audit Support: Support internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules, gather required documentation, and assist auditors in their inquiries. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Team Leadership and Training: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff. Review their work for accuracy and completeness. Conduct training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Implement automation and technology solutions to enhance productivity and accuracy.
