Community and Rural Development Society Nepal (CARDSN) is a Non Government Organization (NGO) formally registered with the District Administrative Office of Nuwakot. It was established on June 30, 1997 and affiliated with Social Service Council on September 1997. A truly grass-roots level, non-governmental, non political and non-profit, voluntary rural development organization – CARDSN has objectives of contributing to social, intellectual and economical upliftment of people in the local society, environmental protection, addressing gender issues, and cooperation in the community. Until now, CARDSN has organized various activities such as community sanitation and hygiene program; adult education for women; out of-school children literacy program, suspension bridge construction on financial support from Helvetas Nepal and Thanapati Village Development Committee. This NGO has also initiated organizing rural poor women into groups and helping them to meet every month, make self-decision, group savings, etc. This NGO has excellent coordination with the Thanapati VDC- a local governance body of Nepal.
