The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is the independent institution of the Government of Japan, responsible for the international cooperation and development agenda of the country. Since its establishment in 1974, JICA has provided various forms of technical assistance in over 150 countries and areas. JICA’s role has changed with the times.
