Practical Action is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) that uses technology to challenge poverty in developing countries. Our belief that the primary goal of development should be sustainable wellbeing for all, and that that goal can only be achieved if technology innovation and dissemination is governed by the principles of technology justice, lead us to our Mission: To contribute to poor people’s wellbeing using technology to challenge poverty by: 1) building the capabilities of poor men and women, 2) improving their access to technical options and knowledge, and 3) working with them to influence social, economic and institutional systems for innovation and the use of technology.
