Reconstruction and Research Development Centre, Nepal (RRDC), a national Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organization based in Mugu district, was established by a group of community development practitioners and human rights activists with the aim to contribute to the reconstruction and development of the country. RRDC is an apolitical, non-profit organization established and registered with the Social Welfare Council in 2010. Its objectives are among others to improve food and nutrition security through research and development programming focused on agriculture, health and drinking water, to contribute to sustainable rural development through reconstruction and rehabilitation of rural infrastructures collapsed due to conflict and other forms of hazards. It promotes good governance and accountability through implementation of relevant programmes and activities such as awareness building through capacity strengthening and community radio programme airing. In addition, RRDC aims at promoting legal awareness on people’s fundamental and legal rights as well as to strengthen community resilience towards conflicts and natural hazards.
