About Us

Established in 2007, Samudayik Sarathi (in English, community charioteer or mobilizer) is a non-partisan non-profit non-governmental organization. Based in Kathmandu, Nepal, the organization is involved in areas such as human rights, democracy, governance, and social justice through right-based approaches. Sarathi is committed to establish a progressive, prosperous, peaceful, and democratic Nepal. Towards this end, Sarathi has set three goals; promote citizens’ participation in democratic process, gender and social equality, and good governance. Sarathi’s current strategic priority involves contributing to institutionalize fundamental rights, implement federalism, empower women and traditionally marginalized community, and strengthen public accountability as envisioned in the new constitution. Along with Nepal’s modernization endeavor, Sarathi envisions growing in stature and becoming the nation’s leading “Think and Do Tank” in the field of democracy, peace and governance in coming five years.
