The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Guard (Senior).

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (48 hours per week)

Salary: (NPR) ₨610,553 - (NPR) ₨610,553/Per Year

Duties:

  • Senior Guards perform mid-level guard service to safeguard U.S. Government property and/or personnel, but occasionally perform duties assigned to the next higher level in the Guard Force.  
  • Employees in Senior Guard positions shall be expected to perform more independently than Guards, Guard/Drivers, and Watchmen.  
  • They shall perform duties such as patrolling, roving, dispatch, reception, and other specialized duties such as operating security electronics equipment.  
  • Additionally, they shall often provide work guidance to a small group of guards within the Guard Force. 

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of three years of prior work experience in police or military, or a commercial security firm, or in the US Embassy Guard Force is required.

Education Requirements: Successful completion of Secondary School is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English is required. Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required. English language ability will be tested. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  The ability to exercise sound judgment in recognizing and acting on incidents, and the ability to work for prolonged periods of time outdoors in inclement weather in exposed or semi-exposed posts are required. A valid Nepali driver’s Class “B” license (Car, Jeep, Delivery Van) is required.

KNOWLEDGE: The knowledge of local security practices is required. A working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications and complete a mandatory probationary period of one year for LE Staff.
