Controls Self-Assessment (remote auditing)

• Liaison with Head of Internal Audit and relevant Heads of Service to create content of self-assessment questionnaires, through good understanding of risk and compliance
• Set-up of self-assessment questionnaires within dedicated audit software (Symbiant)
• Distribution of self-assessment questionnaire to Directors, Heads of Service and Managers globally, chasing responses as necessary.
• Assist in the interpretation and analysis of questionnaire responses
• Develop summary reports using available templates
• Share in system administrator tasks

Audit Recommendation Tracking

• Import or input of audit recommendations into dedicated audit software (Symbiant)
• Administration of semi-automated tracking process, chasing responses as necessary
• Assist in the interpretation and analysis of questionnaire responses
• Develop summary reports using available templates
• Share in system administrator tasks

Finance & Systems

• Develop a good working knowledge of Practical Action’s finance system and processes, sufficient, if required, to:
  • Support in any internal audit or review of finance system operation or finance system development
  • Independently check all forms of finance information that may be required as part of other audits, financial crime investigations, or reviewing responses as part of audit recommendation tracking
  • Provide support to the international finance hub in Nepal (recognising that they will also provide support to the Senior Internal Auditor)
• Have a good working knowledge of IT infrastructure and system risks and controls, sufficient to provide meaningful review (but not expected to be a specialist IT Auditor)
• Have a good working knowledge of Excel, sufficient to audit its use by other departments or to develop applications for audit purposes should the need arise
• Develop a working knowledge of data analytics, in order to identify trends and exceptions within financial and non-financial information (most likely using Excel)

Other

• Occasional need to assist the Head of Internal Audit on audit assignments or to lead on audit assignments, acting either alone or with support
• Willingness to travel within Nepal or other countries, most likely within Asia, should the need arise.
• Assisting with the creation and maintenance of training materials
• Support with other audit and financial crime tasks where necessary

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject or Part Qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA
